لو كان بيدي أن أعطي جائزة للمتطوع الأبرز في العقد الأخير، لما اخترت غير مؤسس اكاديمية خان ، الأمريكي ذو الأصول البنغلاديشيه : سلمان خان
كانت بداية فكرة مؤسسة “أكاديمية خان” بسيطة للغاية، فكان سلمان خان - المؤسس - في عام ٢٠٠٤ يشرح لأحد أبناء عمومته عن طريق الانترنت، ,وعندما أخذ بقية اقرباءه يطلبون نفس الطلب منه ، أعتقد سلمان خان أنه سيكون من المفيد لو نشر فديوهاتك تلك في اليوتيوب -في عام ٢٠٠٦- .. أخذت مقاطع سلمان التعليمية بالانتشار، وكانت تزيد طلبات الطلاب بأن يتفرغ خان للتعليم عن طريق الانترنت .. فعل ذلك فعلا سلمان في عام ٢٠٠٩ ، قال بيل جيتس عندما استقال سلمان خان من وظيفته (كمدير لأحد صناديق التحوط - ونعلم جيدا الرواتب العالية التي يستلمها هذا القطاع!) ليتفرغ للتدريس عبر الانترنت :” الان انتقل شخص ذو معدل ذكاء ١٦٠ نقطة من صناديق التحوط إلى التعليم - وبالتالي إلى العديد من المتعلمين - ، أعتقد أنه يوم رائع ذاك الذي استقال فيه” !ـ
تأسست أكاديمية خان منذ عام ٢٠٠٦، وهي مؤسسة غير ربحية ، تمول نفسها عن طريق التبرعات التطوعية من الناس، هدف الاكاديمية الأساسي هو تغيير طرق التعليم للأفضل من خلال توفير التعليم لجميع طبقات العالم مجانا لأي شخص ، أينما كان ..
أكثر من ٢٧٠٠ فديو تعليمي وفرته الأكاديميه في مجالات الرياضيات والإحصاء والمالية والفيزياء والكيمياء والأحياء وعلوم الحاسب وغيرها!، يبلغ متوسط عدد المشاهدين ( شهريا ) للفديوهات ٣,٥ مليون مشاهد ..
للعلم فقط .. سلمان خان يحمل بكالوريس في الرياضيات وبكالوريس اخر في الهندسة الكهربائية وماجستير في التخصص الأخير من معهد ماساتشوستس التقني .. ثم أتبع كل ذلك بماجستير في إدارة الاعمال من جامعة هارفرد!!
يقول سلمان خان : ” أنا أُعَلِم بالطريقة التي تمنيت لو تعلمت بها” ..ـ
لا يوجد ما هو أنبل من حلم - وفعل - هدفه أن تعم الفائدة والخير للبشرية جمعاء .. لا يوجد أنبل من ذلك أبدا ..
